hello guys im back, here is the latest addition to my shelf this is the italeri demag with pak38 its not the easiest kit in the world to build but i think in the end the effort is worth it, it was built oob except the netting which is cheesecloth and was used because i didnt want to replace the canvas cover which looks terrible on its own, painting and weathering was done the usual way with mm acrylics and oil washes, all comments are welcome and thanks for looking.
up next tamiya’s m20 armoured utility car just putting the final touch to it.
thanks yann and your dead right about the handle, its something i just never thought about but ill fix that, the net is cheesecloth soaked in white glue and paint then shaped on the vehicle after it dries weather it along with everything else. its a fun kit to build but not a fall together but i think a very interesting one.
I know what you mean, I’ve built the Sdkfz 10/4 with flak which is very similar to that one. Like you said : not easy but wonderfull results. I had a hard time with the tracks. I’ve always installed vinyl tracks before so …
BTW, I forgot to mention that the mud effect is reeeaaaalllyy nice.
Well, cool and excellent, again. As well as the beautiful weathering I really appreciate work on things other than Abrams and Tigers, I fully understand how hard it is to restrain oneself while trying to carry out the scratches.
Out standing build. I tried the standard Opel blitz with a 5CM Flak on it. Quite a challenge to get the two to marry up and look right. I know what you mean. Mine looked no where as good as yours though.
biffa, this is a really great rig! Love the mud and gunk! And that cheesecloth makes for a great touch! Looks like camo netting bundled up while the truck is on the move. The model kit alone has enough character to make for an interesting piece, but the magic you weave makes it superb!
man i can’t keep up reading about all your builds!!! I saw the post on the m20 first and now this and what can i say that has not been said?-- great stuff!!— treadwell
Amazing Ron. I always liked that vehicle, but I don’t think I’ve seen one built up in the forum. Yeah Italeri can be tricky, but they usually coming out looking pretty accurate. As always, your weathering is top-notch and the added goods enhance the build. I echo James…“you are the man”. Looking forward to your Crusader.
again guys i thank you for the response i build for my own gratification and collection but its nice to know someone else understands this obsession and enjoys to see them also, i spend easily as much time surfing looking at other peoples work as i do building its a big part of the hobby for me. [:)]
tigerman- the crusaders gone on the back burner for the time being, i got side tracked on a few other things heh up next will most likely be,
italeri’s 234/4 7,5 cm panzerjaeger (already in the paint shop)
then this terrible kit ive been working on, on and off its the maquette zis-30 spg and its been the worst kit ive done yet its awful but i swore i was goin to finish it no matter what happens so ill post it when its done but it wont be pretty heh.
