DELUXE PUTTY IS AMAZING!!!

I’ve never had any luck with miliput product, I just couldn’t get them to ever work well. Whether it be sanding or drying to quickly, even with tips from other users it just didnt work out. I could always see it once it was painted. I saw the Finescale video on filling and bought the Deluxe Materials Perfect Plastic putty. It is a great product. Since its acrylic it can be easily cleaned up if it gets a little out of control. It stays wet and plyable for the perfect amount of time. When it does dry it sands well and I can’t see it under the paint. I highly reccomend this to anyone who needs to fill anything!

It’s pretty good, only thing i’ve found that will fill in wing roots & you can radius it wet!

Google Youtube Deluxe Materials channel for more how-to’s

Thanks for posting the info. It looks like a great product specially for filling the wing to fuse gaps. It says the HL is a distributer so I will look for it.

Truth be told, I severely under-utilize the videos posted by FSM. However, I did manage to watch the one regarding the filler and I am VERY interested in that Perfect Plastic Putty!

Plastic, when you say “HL is a distributor”, do you mean Hobby Lobby or am I getting my wires mixed up here?

Thanks!

Eric

Eric

Yep. Hobby Lobby according to the product website. I will be taking a drive to HL in a bit to look for it and along with my 40% coupon.

Thanks! I’ll be doing the same thing after work today.

Is it wrong that my breathing and pulse just quickened at the thought of trying out a new hobby product?

Eric

Mine does that when I get my nose near the putty & glue… and gasoline!

Echo

That happens to me just as I see the vendor tables at the model shows! :eyebrows:

Went to my local HL and they do not carry it. I also checked their online selection and nothing.

Squatch88, where did you find yours?

I had to get mine from amazon. Only place I could find it. LHS didn’t have anything. You guys know where I can find True Detailers premade washes? Seen them in the magazine but haven’t found anywhere online.

squatch

try here: http://www.thedetailer.net/

that .net must have foiled my search attemps! I have seen some great weathering jobs using this stuff and would like to try it. For only $3 its a good deal too! Thanks plasticjunkie!

I know this is a water based product, good to use on acrylic paint as long as its sealed with a coat of future or something of its equal correct?

Well, Future is acrylic too. I suggest spraying Testors Glosscote and then use the acrylic wash. I usually Future things and then apply my solvent type wash.

I’ll be checking my local Hobby Lobby as well.

I ordered 2 tubes about 6 months ago through Amazon no problem. I use perfect plastic putty as my go to putty along with mr. Putty 500. I have seen it in my local hobby shop here in the Denver area.

I just ordered some of this stuff last night based on this thread. Looking forward to trying it. Thanks for the heads up!

I’ve been using this putty for a while with really good results. I hate tedious sanding and this is the perfect product for small work. Thanks to Aaron Skinner for his review, it’ll make a lot of modelers lives a little easier. Terry

Its made by a UK based company. I don’t know how long they have been around. I became aware of their products about a year ago-ish. They have many cool sounding products but only a few are available in the states.

Hey Squatch, Thanks for this thread. I had found Perfect Plastic Putty a while back on ebay and Amazon but, was unsure of it’s effectiveness. Since the positive reaction from some of the members here I’ve ordered mine.

Just started using perfect plastic putty a couple months ago. I won’t use anything else now. It’s just too easy.
