Deck not Fitting

Hello, im new here and i have a slight issue with my 1/350th scale USS Oliver Hazard Perry from Academy.

The deck wont quite fit properly into the hull opening, i can get it to stay flat by pressing it with both of my hands, but it wont stay in place by itself, and im afraid that trying to glue it will result in the deck lifting off and ruining the paint.

Could anyone help me with how to go about attaching the deck?

I’ve used CA adhesive and clamped it for a few minutes in situations like this with good results. Best advice I could come up with for you.

Try rubber bands.

If the parts are styrene, I would use styrene cement, and clamp the parts well till the bond sets. You can use liquid styrene cement of even good ol’ Testor’s tube glue. Either way, the key is to supply just enough pressure to hold the parts together till the glue sets.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and tips, i think ill try with rubber bands and ice block sticks as braces to hold the deck down.

Sorry, what are “ice block sticks”? I never heard that term before. Are they popsicle sticks?

Best regards,
Brad
