Just got back from Hobby Lobby. 50 minutes there, 20 minutes in the store and 50 minutes back. The problem? only taking $20.00 with me. I went to get the Monogram F-86D, found it. Then found a really nifty HC MiG-15, put down the Dog Sabre, pick up MiG, oooh thats a pretty F-100, put down MiG, pick up Sabre, aaaah, theres the B-1B I was looking for. Went to pickup the Bone and saw it. Shiny red. Glistening black. Gotta have it!!! I wound up with the Revell #8 Dale Earnhardt Jr Budweiser Chevy. Now I gotta get paint for it and might as well grab some glue. Go to pay. Hmmm 6$ over budget. R-CMan73 is with me and lends me the extra. Going home, 10 miles from Hobby Lobby, I realize I don’t know anything about cars and should have got the Dog Sabre. If I’d have been driving I would’ve turned around!
If you HAD to get a car, at least get the #6 of Mark Martin!!

It’s just as bad when you are scrolling through an advert in one of the mags. I always seem to end up sending off an oreder for far more than I was looking in the ad for!!

There’s been a couple times that I’ve gone off to the hobby shop and left empty handed, simply because I couldn’t make up my mind and didn’t have enough money to get all I wanted. [:/]

Sounds like my usual trip to the model shop…! And of course, 95% of the time, the brand new kit gets opened, looked at, then put away because the last issue if FSM has just come by and I’ve seen something in it that’s way more interesting… Back to the shop.
Some are really lucky.
If I made a day trip to the local HS, well, not really a day trip, more like day, then an overnighter, then a few more hours driving, then the HS, and didnt have the readies for what I was gonna buy, I’d be pretty pissed.
Unfortunately for me, costs about $500 round trip to get to a HS, then gotta buy half their store just to see me through the next year.
I really gotta move to the coast[banghead]

I have to admit…that unless it’s something really spectacular, that I’ve disciplined myself well enough over the years to prevent that from happening.
The last time it did happen, it was justified (yea, right). Went to the shop to by decals, and found a Tamiya 1/48 Fw-190D-9 (my favorite aircraft) with a smushed box marked down to $8. Of course, I bought it. Nothing wrong with the kit, just the box.

I’ve been there. I don’t really have much interest in cars, but I usually can’t decide which a/c to get. I have also had the buyers remorse… that’s the worst. Sorry it didn’t go better for you though.
Its alright now. I went back to the LHS and looked at the kits. Couldn’t buy any, no free money for a week and a half. That helped with the cravings, although I’ll probably have to go back again saturday. As if I needed an excuse to go[:P] BTW, I went to Revells’ site today and ran a search for the MSRP to see how badly I got ripped and according to them it doesn’t exist[%-)] I guess because it says on the box lid that its an “adult collectible”?
I have WAY too many kits… I wanted to finish my B-58, B-52’s, and P-61, but I HAD to get an F-101! I need more time and less money!!!
I feel like Smaug the Dragon with a plastic kit treasure hoard instead of a gold treasure hoard. Going to the hobby store with credit card is dangerous. I have to force myself to use pre-allotted cash.
