I wish fortunate enough to purchase these Kits from a Deceased Estate. What have I let myself in for…Cheers mark
Hours, weeks, months, years of modeling enjoyment!
Wow! great haul. I have built a couple of those kits A lot of work but they turn out really nice
Looks like a great collection there. Cant wait to see what you do with them. Looking forward to your builds.
If nothing else, you can line them up and let the fact that they are yours, warm your heart. Awesome.
Well color me green, any idea yet wich will be your first to build?
Let us know if you decide to put any of these on ebay.
You are going to need some reference books on French Naval rigging practice (as Heller will be no help at all).
The reference materials ought help in getting in stuff from Syren, et al, to span across the kits.
The moulding on the kits from that era ought to be quite good, so there is that. Some may have the useless “ratline loom” that Heller was so enamored of back in the day. It makes a spiffy curio, ut is of no real use to a ship modeler.
The color (colour) callouts are likely to be Humbrol (or an osolete line of Revell-randed paints). You will likely have to develop your own pallet of paint in the brands you use/stock.
very nice mark , I have 3 of those kits , this should be fun to watch .
don;t suppose you’d sell the l’indomptable ,just a thought . I tried the PM but that doen’t work .

As a long-time sailing ship model builder I am very impressed with your haul! I’ve built most of those and enjoyed all of them. Please note that some of these kits might have wood grain detail but do not have plank detail (i.e: Glorieux). But, planks can be etched on. I strongly recommend the book
French Warships in the Age of Sail, 1626–1786: Design, Construction, Careers and Fates by R. Winfield

Nice haul,
When I first saw it, I thought either I died, or my family cleaned out my stash closet while I was away, because I have those very kits.
Back in the early 1990s, Squadron used to sell them for a few dollars, so cheap I couldn’t resist buying them on a my college kid budget.
I have built my Royal Louis, but the rest are still in the box.
Enjoy your lifetime collection.
Let’s hope I live that long with the other 200 odd unbuilt Kits in the Stash…Cheers mark
I have built one or two of their Kits before. They can tear you a new one if you are not careful but they look great when finished…Cheers mark
Thanks Mate…Cheers Mark
Shall do. I would love to build the Glorieux first of all when I get to them… Cheers mark
Yep I have come across that before with these Kits. Will have some thinking to do when the Build Time comes…Cheers mark
You never know your luck Steve…Cheers mark
Thasnks Bill. Shall look into it…Cheers mark
Thanks Mate…Cheers mark
Oho!
I have the Soilel Royal and the Sirene. Interesting ships from the great days of Heller. Some drawbacks but straightforward. At one time I was building those and others( Never in Wood) for interior designers who really wanted details on them.
