I’ve posted this over in the decals area, but I’m hoping someone may be familiar with this brand at this forum and can help me.
I’m using the Two Six decals for the Caribbean Airlines 737-800 livery, the Revell Air Berlin kit. I always use MM enamel and gloss overcoat for application (I’ve never been able to master using Future).
I like the decals and I’m glad Two Six made them, but they’re very thick. I had to step up from Micro-Sol to Solvaset. They’ve laid down well and didn’t silver, but they definitely show a surface step.
Is there another step I can use? I would think my other option is to build up the surface with Future, but again my results have always been (what’s the word?) catastrophic. I would normally be overcoating this with MM.

Giving the model a coat of Future will eliminate the ridging. Might require two coats.
Would you dare apply some Future by hand at the edge of the decal to lessen the ridge, then airbrush a final coat? Not sure if that would create more problems than it may solve.
A lot of times with the part of the decal that will not lay flat (around nose) I will brush paint the color. Cut the decal short around nose and mix a “Flat color match” as close to it is you can. I like the flat cause you can control thinning the paint better and it seems to lay better than gloss paints.
After it is good and dry I will brush the Future on to bring it to a gloss. With the future brush on with one stroke. Do not make any brush strokes with Future. One at a time. It MUST be dry before another brush stroke is added.
