Decals for pylons

This is my first post on the board but have been lurking around for some time.

I’m concentrating on building 1/48th post WW2 jets and was wondering where I can find decals for bomb/rocket pylons?

Thx, Jan.

Most kits of aircraft that feature the pylon markings will include them on the kit sheet.

If not, check out the product lists of some British aftermarket decal makers. The RAF does tend to put a lot of markings on their aircraft weapons pylons, so thats probably your best aftermarket bet.

Good luck

Look for Railroad car stencils and markings. They have all kinds of markings that
look similar .

Thanks for the great decal tip …

That is part of what is so great about this FSM forum … you can just be poking around and find great modeling tips.

Thanks again …

hi,upnorth is right in saying about the raf .
normally there is a stencilled unit id(“conn 021”,short for conningsby,pylon number 021)
there is also warning triangles where eru’s are fitted)electoexplosive release unit).on the tornado gr4 there are also locking indicator marjings to show the position of the weapon locks.
i’m not sure if ww2 planes had markingg on the pylons.as a armourer.i know about the modern stuff, but not to sure about pre 1960.
try the raf museum hendon or try www.rafarmourers.co.uk
