Decals, availability, are they worth anything

Hi, all. I am not a trader but I have just bought a bunch of old shop stock decals and wondered if they are worth selling, probably on the dreaded eBay?
I have done some searching and came across a set of AearoMaster decals for aircraft from the USS Nimitz, a set of 5 1/48 sheets plus a book, these were listed at over C$300(Canadian?). Are some decals worth that sort of money as I have these complete with a detailed booklet.
I am in the UK and mainly a car guy(Hot Rods and all cars basically)
Cheers and thanks if anyone can clue me up, John

On the second-hand market, they’re worth what you and a buyer can agree on at the time of the sale.

Before you post them anywhere, you need to consider what you want to get from this. Do you want as much money as you can get, or do you want to move them out of your stash as quickly as possible?

If you want to get as much money as possible, then you’ll probably have to invest more work. Like you’re doing now, asking what others might ask for them if they were to sell them. Research into how rare they might be, how much demand there is, and so on. Then selling on online, you’ll take into account fees, any shipping costs to charge, and so on. Sell in person, then you take into account whether you take a table at a show and how much that costs, how much to travel to and from the show. If you belong to a club, can you offer things for sale there? The costs associated will be less than selling at a show, but again-what is the demand for them? If you have a yard sale, you could offer them. Still get something, but probably less than the methods I’ve already mentioned.

If you just want to move them, then all of those methods still apply, but again, what are the costs and how much do you expect to get?

For me, since I’m not a dealer and don’t need to live by the potential profit, I’d look to move them as quickly as possible. For me, I don’t want to deal with online auctions and having to ship things. I’d take a table at a show, or sell them at one of the clubs I belong to, along with other things. I’m getting closer to selling off much of my stash, and I’m leaning towards taking a table at one of the shows in my area to do it.

Hope that helps you decide what you decide to do.

Best regards,
Brad

Thanks Brad, advice taken. As I am retired I am going to start high, but certainly not at $300, with offers as I can come down but no go up. Online forums with a sales section maybe, eBay, that has been going downhill for years but I have never used the Global Shipping so not sure about that.
