Do you guys apply decals after the model is finished? Or right after the basic camo and before final assembly?

I apply decals after the basic camo is done. That way easily damaged parts like landing gear, pitot tubes and antennae don’t get in the way and don’t get broken. This also makes it easier to weather your model as well.
After all of the basic painting is done. I build mostly aircraft & leave all of the fiddly, easily broken parts as the final step.

Another thing to watch for is sometimes on the bottom of the wings, some decals have to be installed before the pylons. Older jets especially like F-86 and Century series. Just my [2c]
