I was going through my kits today, and I noticed that I have decals that I get as extras with different kits… For example. My F-104 Starfighter came with not only the decals for all of the Japanese squadrons. But also decals for the Canadian Airforce… So it got me to thinking… We need a thread that people can use to post what decals they have, or what decals they may need… Other members can then have a look themselves, and we can all help out accordingly…
If this has been tried, please forgive the post… But it was something that has been sitting in my brain lately… I also have many decals from other subjects aswell… All subjects should be included… Let me know what you all think?
It’s a good idea. I’ll eventually need some decals for my Ju 290Z, a couple swastikas, but because I need only two of them, buying a whole bunch is redundant. I shall follow this thread with interest.
Great idea. I have bits and pieces, mainly 1/32 aircraft if anyone is interested,I have F14.,P51., BF109e., F86, also JU87 in 1/24 and AH-1 IN 1/48 off the top of my head.

A great idea, but it will need archiving and indexing. Without that, after 50 people have added pictures of what they can offer, there’s no way we’ll remember every single sheet. And any newcomer will be lost altogether…
Well, Lucien Harpress… Thats my thinking all together!.. You only need 2 swastikas… So someone reading this thread will see that, and can say “Hey I have a couple, here you go”… Its up to the 2 parties to decide if money will be involved or a trade, or an I.O.U… As for me… If I have something that someone might need, then I am happy to put it in the mail… The whole idea is that hopefully when I need something, then someone might just have it available…
I like the idea of catalogueing everything, but I am not sure on how to go about it… I guess for the time being, we could just post pics of what we have spare at hand, and then take it from there… Just keep checking in, and see who is asking for certain things ect… I dont know… Your feedback would be greatly appreciated… As I basically just thought of it as an idea, and hadnt really thought it through as yet… It would make a good sticky…
I do not know what is possible on this Forum. A simple way, though requiring constant input, would be to create a thread specific to this exchange programme; people could add pics or descriptions of their offerings but the original post would act as the indexing part, with for instance, decals listed first by nationality (German, Soviet, US, France, Siam,…), then by type (F-14, Bf-109, Su-15,…) each with the name of the owner so that he/she can be contacted or flagged up easily.
Sorry to be a wet blanket here, but we don’t permit buying, selling, or trading in the forums.
This is a post I’ve had to make several times in the past and it knocks my already tenuous popularity even further down, but I’m afraid this is the policy we are currently working under. That’s not to say things couldn’t change in the future, but this is how it stands right now.
drat. I think it’s an excellent idea. but the ges- sorry FSM moderators have shut this down. I do respect their decisions as this forum is wonderful place, but still…
I still think this is a great Idea
In fact I’d even pay, say a dollar a trade or filled request, to the Administrator or owner of the site for his troubles.
I’d set a site up myself but at the moment I don’t have the time to do it justice.
Maybe someone here will take the ball and run with it.
If not, next year when things slow down, I’ll just do it.
I can’t imagine what liability it would put FSM or Kalmbach under if we used this web site as a means to discuss the setting up of such a site. Of course we wouldn’t use this Forum to actually run such a site, but to discuss it? I mean, who’s threatened by that? Well, that’s a silly question. We just found out who’s threatened by that.

Good Idea, I have coutless decals either AM of from kits, that will never be used on models, I an help with the forum bit. Email me with your ideas. I have a forum site going.
I will work on a page somewhere this weekend… Not a lost cause yet… Infact I have just bought 3 new kits, and well, they each have about 3 extra sets of countries that I wont model… I might make up an msn site or something… Let me get to it…
