Hey gang,
OH NO! After coming around the last turn and starting down the home stretch, I had a decal lift off. Not an entire decal, but rather a large piece of it.
I noticed that I hadn’t painted the antennas and strike camera under the nose of my Thud. I had already sealed the decals with MM dullcote so figured it was safe to mask over the decals to paint what I missed. I was wrong. A large part of the shark’s mouth came up with the tape. Luckily, I was able to remove it from the tape in one whole piece.
I remember reading somewhere that I could use either diluted white glue or Future as a bonding agent beneath lifted decals. Is this decal salvageable, or am I doomed to buy a new Aeromaster sheet for the decal.
Please help!

EDIT:
Thanks to Triarius for the tip. I brushed on a little Future and slid the decal piece into place. Luckily, I was able to pull the chuck that lifted off the kit from the tape without doing further damage. After I lined the torn piece up with the rest of the mouth, I brushed a little more future over the tear, just to help seal everything up. So far, it looks great! I’m sure, once the Future dries, another coat of clear flat will blend it all together and no one will be the wiser.

BTW Wulf, yes, I did use a gloss coat. Future to be exact. It appears as if there’s some silvering, but I think it’s a product of the camera. I put the kit under a magnifying glass but couldn’t see any silvering. Optical illusion?
Anyway, thanks for the quick help.
Cheers!
