Some more rivets on a US LB-30 (Liberator II), AL-613, “Tough Boy”, 28th Composite Grp, 36th BS, Umnak, Aleutians. You can practically see every rivet through the flat black paint:
Not only does it have rivets but that Dauntless also does not have pre shaded panel lines! What where those guys at Douglas thinking? That is going to cost them their Gold medal at the Nationals!

Wine: regarding the AM kits…they are spectacular. I’ve built one an have another on the stash. The best there is by far.
Aside from the recessed exterior surface detail (which is obviously not accurate), they are superb. Certainly the best 1/48, if not any scale, SBD kits on the market.
guess I should have put a bid in for the one that sold for $16 then…sigh…
That would have been a pretty good deal especially since they are OOP. Fortunately, the AM stuff seems to be easy to find at this point. That’s probably going to change at some point. The Avenger is also killer.

If you see a pic of TBD, it’s more likely than not that they DIDN’T get back.
That being said, I just scored an old Monogram TBD with a Eduard set and resin wheels and torpedo for $22 including shipping. Built one 30+ yrs. ago, figure it’s time for another.
