not too sure on that one richard being a oop matchbox , but i know that revell/ monogram bought all the old presses from matchbox so i would check if theres a revell/monogram kit , if there is i’m sure there will be some aftermarket stuff for it

Hi, a friend gave me the Matchbox Dauntess SBD-5 kit to build for him. Was there an article that explains the steps in completing this model? Thanks.

Richard,

I’ve never seen the kit, but there is a review of it in Squadron’s SBD Dauntless in Detail and Scale. Their basic conclusion is - if you’re looking for a really accurate kit out of the box… this ain’t it. They give a whole laundry list of inaccuracies to correct. They say the overall outline of the kit is OK, but there is alot of detail either missing or just plain wrong.

So it’s a fixer-upper - don’t let that stop you. Model On Man !
