Phil, she’s done a great job. Nice to see younger folks taking an interest. The purple 109 sounds like a great idea
actually compared to my first model at that age she is the epitome of accurateness and advanced modeling skills!
I like it and think you should be very proud of it!
Just think… now she can go to school and tell her classmates the model she built got raving international reviews! [;)]
—edit—
oh and good one Sarge! [:)]
Thanks ![]()
Alright Dad…!!! Just the look on Becky’s face says it all. Congrats to her on a job well done.
Do I see a future contest winner…???[:p][;)] Thank you Phil for sharing the joys of this hobby…!!
Flaps up, Mike
you could get pink to paint it and everytime i see this it makes me cry[BH][BH][BH][BH]

Tell Becky what a wonderful job she did on the Spitfire. The pink looks great.

Way to go Becky, way to go!![tup][tup][tup][tup]
Good to see the young ones getting into it. Keep her encouraged.

O and thats great, much better than my first paint [:0]
Thanks a LOT, Sarge, now I’ve got Yellow Submarine running through my head! LOL
Never been a girly-girl but if That mean another model girl about, so be it. Clean build and I wasn’t that good with decals at that age. Needs a purple 109 for company.
I saw the pictures on the website. Nice job done. [tup]
This is obviously a high altitude rece version.
Reminds me of my first kit. I was about 8 at that time and also started with the Spitfire (1/72 Airfix; the one in the small plastic bag and the “blob” of glue included [:D]), but I didn’t painted it though because I was to eager to play with the finished model.
Cheers
Great job and she had fun doing it, that’s what this hobby is about. Great smile on your daugther. Also I vote for a purple 109 also
Way to go Becky! I think the pink is perfect for the spit.
Phil as a modeller you must be proud you can inspire the next generation, and as a father you must be even more proud that it is your daughter!
I totally agree, go for a purple bf109 or yellow b-17!
A pink Spitfire … that’s great … build some more Becky … thanks for sharing … [swg]
It’s not like all models are drab. Formation ships were pretty interesting. She’s got plenty to work with and Girls Rule!!
yay ![]()
I hope she sticks to the hobby, we need more girls (I am a girl
)
And who said the B-29 had to be silver? Paint it purple!!
lol
It’d be cool to see, after all
bravo, Becky !
very nice job on the PRU Spitfire, i’ve always loved the
recce colors that they wore !
the pink was actually the low altitude version, IIRC…
4 those of u that think this is a “flight of fancy”,
here’s a link 2 a thread w/ a version built by militarymodeler last year:
http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=23635
here’s a pic, 4 those that don’t want 2 read the text…

so, the pink spit was really used in ww2…
as 4 the yellow bomber, i seem 2 remember someone posted a pic of a
formation a/c that not only used a bright yellow as the basecoat,
but was finished w/ different colored polka dots all over…
& the scheme was apparently used on a real a/c !
congrats 2 the newest girl modeler on the scene,
& 2 her proud papa as well !
now, about that purple bf-109…
nightfighter in grauviolett, maybe ?
girl modelers rule !

Of all the models I’ve seen onthis site (including my own) I think this is the best plane I’ve seen! What a great build! Wouldn’t the world be so much better if kids ran the show?
Philp, I only hope my daughter wants to build kits like her old man. She’s only two but she already loves airplanes. And if she wants a pink Spitfire or Corsair or anything, she’ll get it! As Bgrigg said, the smile is all worth it!
Great job!
Eric
LOL! Good one Sarge.
I agree the hobby needs more female presence.
One more vote for a purple 109!
