Datsun Search- please help

Well folks, I got a problem. Someone at work found— well, he didn’t find----he bought a 1983 Datsun 280ZX Turbo, and thus here starts my dilema.

It made me realize just how much I still LOVE these cars.

I had several models—well several of the same kit----and I built them many different ways, mild to wild. There all gone now. I haven’t even thought of them for several years until my freind showed up at work with his “new” ride.

The kit was from AMT, and I can’t remember the kit number. I can’t find one anywhere.
The AMT kit is in 1/25 scale, and is of an '81-'83 Datsun 280ZX Turbo.

Can someone please help me if they have an unbuilt kit to sell, or lead me to someone that does? Any help will be IMMENSLY
Just so you know what I’m going to do when I finally have one, take a look at this. Doesn’t it send chills down your spine that a 22 year old car can look this modern?

I inquired at Brian’s Models, but so far no response…
Again Thank you.

There is a hobby store in St.Paul, MN that has what you are looking for. send me an e-mail and I will get you the shops phone #. they still had 1 or 2 left last week when I was there. I also have a soft spot for the 280’s as it was the first “real” IMSA type car I was able to sit in.

Can’t help with the kit but I always preferred the 240, being that much shorter and not a 2+2. Also it won the African Safari rally and the Tamiya 1/12th kit is fabulous (although I’ve have bearly started building it even though I’ve had it for many many years). So maybe 2 votes for the 280 and 1 for the 240!

Thanks fussionboy. Shot ya an e-mail. If ya don’t get it let me know.
I enabled e-mail on my ----what’s it called?
Anyway you can see the button at the bottom of my posts now.[:D]

Hi, Nicholma, I like the 240 Z as well. I have two kits of the Revell 1970 240Z.
One is Bright yellow with a black interior, and the other I don’t know what color yet.
The 280ZX was avalible as a 2 seater or 2+2 either one. This one is a two seater:

The 2+2 had a lot more roof panel at the rear tire area.
But yeah, the 240 is a bunch shorter in the rear end.

Tamiya did a 1/24 280ZX 2 seater. I made one a good few years ago.

Arii apparently did a 1/24 curbside 280ZX as well.

I found one!! Got lucky and tuned in to e-bay, just as one was on auction.
I won.

Oh, fussionboy, please send me the number to that hobby shop. If I can get more of this kit I will! Thanks
