can i mix acrylic Tamiya x-13 metallic blue with x-10 gun metal to acheive a “darker” metallic blue? thanks!
Sure, why not? You can also try mixing Clear Smoke with Metallic Blue.
Basically you can mix any of the same type and brand paints to get whatever color you like. Start testing with small amounts and keep track of your mixing ratios for later use.

seems to me the gunmetal has a bit of dark dark greyish tone to it, so i’d put another vote on mixing more smoke or even a bit of X-1 since tamiya’s metallic blue has a good amount of flakes in it, just gotta make sure you stir it long enough to get an even mix.
so the gun metal is not a good choice? i should go with the smoke or black? thanks again guys.
