Dang boxes

I’m I the only one with this problem. I get all these cool armor kits from cyber-hobby that I don’t have time to build yet, but I rip open the box and drool over all the parts and dream about when I actually get around to building it…but wait…I put all the pieces & sprues back in the box and they don’t fit…I always wonder how on earth they fit all that stuff in one box…I’ve spent 45 minutes trying to figure that out - worse than the Rubik’s cube. Anyways…just ranting cause I have nothing real important to say this morning.

First lets start with the important stuff…I’m happy your life is going so well that this is all you have to complain about. Now just take the time to think about all the 7 year olds that are forced to work (I’m not implying at the model factory) in factories doing the same type of thing. The’re forced to work becasue they have no money to put food on the table…suddenly packing a couple sprues back in a box after trying 2 or 3 times seems pretty trivial dooesn’t it!

quick question, how does one go from a post about i cant put my model back in the box to hey some 7 year old out there does it for a living ?

Memorize the order in which they came out, or just sit on the box…

hmmmm…I was thinking the same thing…next time I’ll keep my trivial, non life altering thoughts to myself!

lol…I learned my lesson about ‘sitting’ on the box once already!

The path of enlightment and freedom from bondage of toil is within their own grasp and abilities. So long as they continue to accept their fate as that of the proletariat then there is where they will remain. Then deservedly so. For them Scientific Socialism is their destiny. Show me proof that 7 year olds pack my DML or Tumpeter boxes and I might feel guilty…for a second. Till then, I like my $40 kit and accept that Capitalism works much better than Communism and my beaugoisie butt will continue to reap the benefits of a working class and a world economy utilizing the exploitation of the masses.

Besides, everyone knows, the same guys that pack those boxes, also are the same seven year olds that fold road maps for the first time. My hats off to them. Now if I can just get one to come to my house and stop my VCR from blinking 12:00…

Looks like someone got sour milk in their Cheerios this morning. [yuck]

hey those 7 year olds are the ones that fold the maps ??? i wanna get my hands on them cause i can never get it to fold back right [:D]

after you get done looking up all those big words in the dictonary…read my post! I wish, in my life all I had to worry about was putting the pieces back correctly…all I’m saying is I’m jealous!

So when somebody complains about painting thier Panzer do you think that this is all they have to worry about in their life? I hope I didn’t come across that this is the most annoying thing in my life right now - I just think it’s funny.

Then why didn’t you say that in the first place!

I did, just didn’t explain it well!

Dear IYAY…IAyyA…IyyyayAAAYY…oh whatever; you know who you are. It has struck me on more than one occasion that you might take things that are said on this website a liiiiiiiittle too seriously…Seriously, Dude; LIGHTEN UP! We’re all friends here and there’s no need to interject serious discussions of geopolitical issues into what is simply lighthearted banter about …plastic models!!! I have my own news blogs and forums where I rant and rage like in the finest traditions of a 3rd-World petite dictator! No need to bring that kind of vinegar into this house; lets restrict the dialogue to little pieces of plastic which require instructions and patience,ok!!! (This is what I do to FORGET the nastiness of the reeal world, please don’t ruinthat for me and the rest of us, ok?—all’s forgiven!)

Keep it on track. We’re here to talk about modeling - not about global labor laws.

Regarding the packing question … I know a man who job title is “Packaging Engineer” (not at a modeling company, though). There are people out there whose sole job it is to find a way to get a lot of stuff into not a lot of space.

Hey, when I was with the 15th MEU(SOC), I was the Embarkation NCO for my Marine unit. Trying packing a LSD sometime. “Oh man, I forgot to pack the M9 Ace…”

I don’t think that’s milk. [:D]

Easiset way to get the contents back in the box is to keep the same order in which they were packed…reverse stacking. [;)] Of course, once you start removing stuff from their individual packing bags, all bets are off and I usually just nest the main box inside the top and go from there. [:D] I don’t make a habit of opening boxes though unless I’m going to build them to avoid the dilemma you’ve encountered, but have to admit it does require a lot of restraint when the newest/latest-greatest arrives on the doorstep!

Must admit I have the same problem too. the Dragon Tiger I Late was a pain to repack.

I learnt the reverse stack way the hard way when I was looking at my new Sd.Kfz 251 kits.[:P]
