I have never attemted this but what would be the best way to cut sections of the body off? I am going to need to remove the sides of a curved hood if that helps any more. Thanks.
Razor saw if you can, otherwise, try using the back side of the point of an #11 and just keep going over it until it cuts through.

I just cut out the door on my 1\72 spitfire. If you’re careful and paitient, you can do it with a blade pretty easily. The fuselage was too small for my razor saw to get into, so the knife was my only option. Remember to allow for the width of the blade in your cutting. If you don’t cut out quite enough you can always go back and trim a bit more, it’s much easier than adding plastic that you accidentally cut away.
True, but seeing ow this is going to represent a shade tree modification on the race car, I don’t think it has to be perfect, the one in the picture looks rather rough.
