Cutting Edge Decals advice?

I am having my first expereinces using CE decals right now on two projects I have going. In both cases, they have to cover some compund curves and are not very responsive to Micor Sol and Micro Set. They are slowly being brought to better shpe but still have lots of wrinkles left to deal with.Does anyone here have similar expereinces with this brand and how have you overcome the problem. My prior expereinces with most kit decals, Super Scale, Eagle Strike, Yellowhammer, and Aeromaster brands have not been so difficult. I have plenty more in my stash, and if this is a common occurance I am not too keen on them compared to other brands. Especially as they tend to cost more. Any suggestions and help wil be greatly welcomed.[whstl]

Cutting Edge went out of business when Meteor shut down. Your stash may be worth some $ on eBay, although the resin is much more sought after than the decals. I have only used a few of the CE sheets & found them to be a bit hit & miss in the quality department. If you have any Walthers Solvaset handy, try it as it’s a stronger solution than the Microscale products.

No Solvaset in my hobby supplies currently, but I think a trip to the LHS this weekend for some is in order. I know about the demise of Cutting Edge. [*-)]I used to thinkit was a bad thing, but now I am not so sure. On the plus side they have the markings I like, On the minus side are the issues mentioned above. I dont think I will be selling them off unless my next expereinces are worse. I guess I just had higher expectations due to the higher cost. Dont let my wife or kids hear about my stash being worth $$$ online… they already hound me about selling some of it.[whstl]

Yea me too lay them in a puddle of Solvaset it 'll pull them down tight worked for me. Aceses5[2cnts]

OK, thats two votes for solvaset. My weekend was filled up with taskingss beyond my control, so no trips to teh LHS. So this coming weekend…

Add another vote for Solvaset-I’ve used it to make very thick Tamiya decals usable.

Well tht stuff is not as easy to find as I thought it would be. Two different (the bigger and larger stocked) hobby shops don’t even carry the stuff. But it was a good excuse to browse on Friday,[whstl] and I did get the super glues (thin and thick) that I needed. Then yesterday at the smallest of the three LHS, on a quick trip during my way in to work, I found that he carried Solvaset.[t$t] I have given the first application this morning. We shall see how it works.

Well it sure has worked better than Micro Sol. But it also appears to be a bit harsh on the Future coat beneath.[^o)]

If you see a whittish film come up don’t worry it will go away another coat of future or with your or flat coat.
