Good morning, good day, good afternoon or good evening gentlemen.
Has anyone of you tried the Cutting Edge and their Non Armour and Wing Fold conversions for the Skyraider in 1/48?
Any ups and downs?
I did a folded wing AD-6 (A-1H) with their kit. It is well done, everything fit ell, and is accurate to scale. You need to use cyanicrilic (SP) glue on resin parts (or epoxy), but that is the only “downside”. I will be doing the unarmoured conversion on a Matchbox AD-5 (A-1E). Get the corrected propeller blades from them also.
Engines and Things offers the correct engine if you want to open up the cowl. You can also get details sets from Aeries, wheel wells, dive brakes, cockpit, etc. In case you can’t tell, I like the SPAD! Use the Tamia kit for your base kit, unless you want to rescribe all the panel lines on the Monogram kit. (Note: the Monogram kit is still a great kit) rangerj
yeah, I am doing a monogram spad now (had it sittin’ on the shelf for some time). Rescribing all the panels lines is a bit of a chore, but not ****** bad as doing the same on some earlier airframes or jets.
Thanks for the info.
