I’m new here - this forum is full of great ideas! I’m a retiree and have decided to try to build several aircraft that I’ve either worked on or flown in. I am currently working on a T-33, (one that I have had the pleasure to fly in), a Heller 1:72. The advice I’m seeking is how best to separate the one-piece canopy so I can configure with an open canopy. Thanks. Ken
Welcome to the forum.
Depending on the canopy, a razor saw will make clean cuts with a fairly thin kerf. If it looks like you will loose too much material, you can score the seperation line with the back of the point of a new #11 blade until you get through.
Agree with Marc, that’s how I do it. I also support the inside of the canopy with some clay or silly putty. It easy to crack the canopy if you applied to much pressure - let the saw to the work, don’t press hard - the clay helps relieve any pressure.

Thanks very much, guys. The razor saw is one tool I don’t have yet ( I’m sure there are many more as well), so off to the hobby store. Wingnut, I’ve visited your site a number of times - it’s awesome! Ken
Thanks Ken, glad you like it.
