Custom decals

Anyone familiar with using Bare Metal brand custom decal film/paper for inkjets? Seems like they make clear and white-backed versions. But how well do they work and what tricks are there that prevent problems. Obviously, decals are used for all types of models, so I’d ask the same question of car modelers. Thx.

I assume you mean experts choice decal paper. I’ve used it 2 times, both times with good results. Here:

That’s one example. After they are made, wait a while for them to dry then seal them. I’ve used microscale liquid decal film. Others use testors decal bonding spray with equal results, after that, use as any other decal sheet.

I am very new to making copies of decals.

Question: When do you use White and Clear? So far it has bee trial and error. I had some yellow coloring

to copy and tried the Clear and when I put it on the model it completely dissapeared.

It depends on what you are doing, the sheet I posted of is white backgroung because I needed white in the decal. White brackground also keeps your decals from disapearring because the white background blocks the color of the model ( for lack of a better term). That’s why you get a white decal to go under the color one on some decal sheets. The biggest pain with white decal paper is cutting out a very detailed decal to get rid of all the white.
