Curves??

Am I the only one here that can never paint a curve? It doesn’t matter if it’s a simple half circle in front of the intake of a jet or a cool dazzle camouflage pattern on a carrier. What do you use to do it?

For me I use masking tape or sometimes freehand but it’s still a pain in the @$$ though so try using Tamiya or Pactra tape and those should help.

But what about those really tight curves? Like the ones the size of a quarter, maybe its just me but I cant get any kind of tape into that small a circle.

Hi About tight curves & small circles go to your local art store & ask if they have or get you a compass cutter. Its like a compuss but has a small blade to cut circles & curves. hope this helps[8-]

That sounds great thanks for the tip.

You could also try cutting the circle you need on a recipe card and hold that over the area you want to shoot. It won’t give it a hard edge, and you get the shape your looking for without worring about stripping paint.

THe problem is cutting perfect circles is not my specialty, thats why the circle cutting thing looks like a good idea.

Hi Rob J

The thing with the compuss cutter is the you can also cut circles in thin evergreen sheet as well as card. I use it all the time for making shelds for wheels & for making masks when doing camo on armor.
