Hey all! What do you recommend as best books covering the preWWII Curtiss aircraft? I’m primarily interested in everything built from the P6E to the P40C,fighters,bombers,scouts,etc.,production and experimental.I want plenty of text as well as photos and plans, for reference and good reading rather than modeling. Best Regards, Mike
Osprey puts out several good books on the P-40, as does Squadron. Not sure about the other Curtiss aircraft.
I’ve not seen a comprehensive volume on Curtiss aircraft- that would be interesting to find.
to be honest i havent seen a one book covers all for curtiss. however there are a number of books out there that do cover the different types. squadrons detail and scale cover the hawks very very well.

I found this book whilst doing an Internet search:
“Curtiss Aircraft 1907-1947” by Peter Bowers. Apparently it was published in 1979 and is currently out of print, but available used. I know nothing of the book, but perhaps somebody here can chime in as to if it’s what you might be looking for.
HTH,
Mark
