I bought a Fujimi Fiat Barchetta on ebay… what a sexy little car… however, as most of you know, most Fujimi kits are curbside (no engine). My question to all of you is, what can i do to make this model look special??? I know a good paint job is a start, but does any one haveany ideas???
hi littlemo, i’ve built many curbside models. if i build one i usualy try to go all out somewhere else on the model. try to do the interior up extra nice, or do some sort of graphics on the outside, use your imagination and you’ll do fine. lots of luck with the kit.
Ron, try putting in some carpeting, really get the dash looking good. i’m doing a TA right now and I think I’m going to attempt some cloth seats. You can always get some aftermarket parts to spice it up. I saw earlier some keys you can hang in the ignition.
i found n really neat photo-etch called “interior junk” made by detail master, has all kind of cool stuff, including keys, sunglasses, tools and even a “tree” air freshener… pretty cool hu??
I’m not sure what the kit wheels are like, but there’s usually lots of opportunity for sprucing a curb-side up by detailing the wheels. Putting in valve stems and detailing the brakes (if they’re visible through the wheels) always adds a nice touch.
this is the first cubside model i have ever done, and i’m a little lacking in the imagination department when it comes to the rest of the car… I’ve gotten down the engine compartment fairly well… right now i’m having problems with the color of the fiat, so hopefully i can get that solved soon, and when i do, i will post some pictures… what do you use for valve stems??? stretched sprue???
hey littlemo, the interior junk is a good piece of photo etch. i’ve used it once and i though it was cool. it comes with keys on it as well. the carpeting is a good idea to. use flocking. have you ever used it? good luck.
