First attempt at a diorama. Still not finished yet, have a GMP tool set coming, need to build some more shelves and a cabinet or two.
If I were to do it again, I might go with 1/24 scale instead of 1/18. I think there’s more stuff available in the smaller scale, not to mention it would take up less room.
Wish I had a better camera, I can’t get mine to focus very close.
Nice!
The pic at the bottom is particularly impressive. Looks like I could walk right in and fire that big boy up!
Where is the cat that should be sleeping on the roof of the car? If you had cropped the bottom photo a little, you would never have known it was a model. Very nice dio.
Like this? Might have to get a junkyard dog to put in there.
Very nice. Wish my shop floor was as clear of clutter. I definatly looks like the real thing.
There you go! But we must assume that the engine is cold, otherwise the cat would be sitting on the air cleaner! Very nice work. You even put in the Playboy calendar.
What doesn’t show up real well is the puddle of oil with oil-dry compound under the Harley. The Calender is a reproduction of the Marlyn Monroe calender.
SWEET. If the cat’s on the hood where are the tracks on the glass?
Very good, but the only thing that is missing is a beer bottle or two and a few posters of some babes on the wall. [;)] Im serious about that too, its not a joke. toy around with that idea please. [:D] just kidding you dont have to but i do think it would add alot to the diorama.[:)]
Love the graining on the desk. Makes it look really nice. Great job!
I have some Budweiser cans, but they are 1/12th scale and just too big if placed next to anything. Put a couple of crushed ones in the junk pile.
I’ve been collecting pics of 50’s pinup girls off ebay - copy & paste the photo from the auction. I’d have them up but ran out of colored ink. Last night I did a image search on Google and found some pics of cigarette butts, copied and reduced them to proper scale and put a few around.
A breath of fresh air! I mean we rarely see dios not for the war in this section. It is very good. Very convincing. The cat looks comfy in that position. LOL.
Very nice … very nice indeed Sisco.
Only missing one thing that I can see … a pile of unbuilt model kits in the corner of the garage. [;)][;)]
Thanks for sharing.
Need to put all that on a real nice frame, Sisco. Will only embelish all that nice work!
Domi
looks great
nice deep shine on the car
hey could you do me a favor, and take a pic of the boose cans next to the car and then post a pic so i can see how big they are??? like I said before, looks good.
PS> ya might try putting an idot box (TV) some where in there lol. really make it a gear head like me’s domain (Just a note, I am a gear head but I dont like building cars cause I only get trouble and way early grey hairs.)
It does look great but it really needs to have a lot more clutter. I rewally like the bench was that scratch built?
Very nice Sisco. Only thing I see that could improve it is some more stuff hanging on the walls like tools or hub caps or something to fill some of the empty space. Maybe a bar stool or lawn chair or two also. Got to have somewhere to sit down, drink some beer while you figure out what’s not working right. Just my opinion though. Great job, thanks for posting it.
Thanks for all the feedback.
I’ll be slowly collecting stuff to add to it, I’m not what you would call a “Modeler”, don’t have a big old box of stuff to dig through. Is it in poor taste to post a “Want to buy” thread on the forums?
I bought a GMP tool set on ebay, hasn’t come yet. Got the posters, magazines & parts boxes from Scale Modeling by Chris www.scalemodelingbychris.com
Need a fridge to fill with beer & bologna.
Aftermarket: the cans came from my wifes 1/12th dollhouse project, they are food cans. I’m making up new labels to put on them.
RAF120: I built the workbench from scale dimension lumber from Hobby Lobby. Plan on building some cabinets and other stuff too.
