Crazy find on a B-29

I’m building a B-29 for a nieghbor. His father in law flew them in the 500thBG tail number Z squared 51. We had been trying to find photos of the airplane, but had no luck. I was thumbing through books the other night, looking for a good engine picture, when low and behold she popped right out infront of me. Two pages, two full pages of a B-29, tail number Z squared 51. She had 34 bombs painted on the nose (1 more mission to go) 3 Japanese flags and two crew members in front of her.

Needless to say I was pretty stoked and never had the picture of the actuall airplane I was building.

Cool when that happens, isn’t it? [:D]

Yup-- I have built models for 4 different veterans and at the start of each, hoped they had pics of their rides…but haven’t found one yet that had anything I could use…guess they were busy doing other things other than pic taking
