Picked up the Star Wars Legion Crashed X-Wing kit on clearance. It comes with 4 base pieces.
Decided to make a diorama out of it and hacked away at the bases to combine into one base. Used crumpled up tin foil to fill in the gaps and covered in watered down Mod Podge.
Next step is to prime and fill in any remaining gaps.
That’s a pretty cool looking kit. I’ve enjoyed painting some of the various editions of those Star Wars games.

Added in more debris and filled the gaps. Next is to paint the base with Transparent Blue before drybrushing it white and drybrushing the rocks various shades of browns and greys. Then it’s time to paint the X-Wing!
Applied a Transparent Blue to the base.
While that’s drying I’ll switch my focus to the X-wing. Decided to paint it in a Red-1 livery.
After blocking in base colors, chipped off some paint with a sharp hobby blade and then applied MIG Starship Wash to the panel lines and some of the panels. Added a couple of decals from my Bits Box…
Decided to tone down the Yellow a bit by adding Buff over it…
The Red 1 marking turned out great! Nice touch using buff to adjust the yellow. Looking sharp!
Slowly working on the base. Drybrushed the back area, added some washes and then applied snow to the crevices..
Working on building up the colors of the exposed rocks.
Eventually the rest of the base will be dry brushed with white and then covered in snow, leaving some of the blue showing.
That’s some spectacular work there. From the ground work paint job, to the damage on the X-wing fighter. The R2 unit with its leg sticking up
