Couple of Braille scale projects

I just started a couple of new 1/72 scale builds. The first one is the Attack Hobby Schwimmkorper PzKpfw.38(t) light amphibious tank. Neat little vehicle that may have been developed to invade England during Operation Sea Lion. The tank kit is a little crude so I got the ExtraTech PE set and an Armo barrel to help detail out the tank.


The next project is an armored railcar used to patrol the railways in the Balkans during WW2. It is called a Steyer K 2670 Schienenpanzer. It’s about 3" long and a solid resin kit with some photoetch and smaller resin detail parts. It even includes a little railway base.

I’ve always pretty much been fascinated by German armored railway cars.

That PE fret looks like it’ll be pretty challenging all by itself Major. Good luck with it and let us see the results!

I like the armoured railcars too, I have a Dragon 1/35th one similar in my pile.

At least the PE is not an ABER set. Still looks kinda tiny though. Yours eye must be better than mine.

Ahh now there are pics. Looks like a couple of real cool builds Major. Don’t think I could trust myself with that little bitty PE though, Would wear my kness out looking for it on the floor.

Is it normal to have an uncontrolable shudder when you see the PE fret?

I’m a sucker for a good deal. The first kit is being built for an experimental vehicle group build called “Project X” and includes prototypes, one-of-a-kinds, etc. The armored rail car is almost completed. Should have it ready for a primer coat tonight.
