Hey-

I’ve been working on Cottage Industries 1/72 CSS Hunley. It’s a terrific little kit that goes together very nicely. It’s complete and I just need to paint it. But before I paint, I was playing around with display bases and thought I would get some opinions on what I came up with. It’s a simple wood base with a seabed and a acrylic rod to hold up the Hunley. It’s an air hardening clay sprinkled with sand and painted. Any comments or suggestions?

Other than maybe some bits of seaweed-looking stuff on the bottom in a few spots to break up the monotony and maybe a larger pebble (rock) or two. I was actually eying that kit myself, but the cost put me off. It does build up into quite the nice looking vessel, though.
