Corsair II questions

I just began working on the Glencoe Corsair II and was wondering about what kind of materials were used in its construction. Being built in 1890, for J.P. Morgan (money was no object), I believe the deck would probably be planked with teak rather than a more common hardwood. I’m assuming the hull was iron. In all the photos I’ve seen it appears to be black but could be a dark gray. Since it was custom designed and built as a yacht I suppose some speculation is involved here but I thought maybe there were some common practices in the late 19th century.

Any information, tips, or even theories would be appreciated.

Teak. Teak is almost exclusively used for deck planking on yachts of this type. I assume Mr. Morgan would have had his steam yacht built with steel. The images I have seen look like it is metal. For the ship to have survived and been used by the Navy as it was it must have been durable. Steel and Iron were popular materials at its time of construction.
