Correct tracks for Tamiya 1/35 KT-Porsche

Which are the correct Friul Tracks for the Tamiya KT Porsche? I have a set of ATL-22 that came with the kit but have read that the ATL-16 Tiger 2 are correct for this model. I also see that there is and ATL-36 for the late KT, issued after May '44. Did this model ever have the ATL-22 type track or have I just wasted 2 days?

i believe that you have wasted your past two days, I have never seen evidence of those traks on the KT. Just use the stock ones if you want to be accurate

I want to get this right so I might as well get the correct set - I can always get another KT-Henschel to go with the set I’ve made. SO back to the original question:Does anyone know which is the correct Friul set for the Tamiys KT Porsche?

Early Porsche turreted Tiger IIs had the 18 tooth drive sprocket with the Gg 24/800/300 tracks. Starting in May 1944, this changed over to the 9 tooth sprocket with Gg 26/800/300 tracks. The ATL-22 would be the Gg 24/800/300s and the ATL-16 would be the Gg 26/800/300. The ATL-37 would be the final type Kgs 73/800/152 tracks for the final Henchel versions.
So a Porsche turreted KT could have either of the first to types, but then you need to match this with the other variations of the Porsche KT as well, such as gun tube type, towing eyes and glasis notch, exhaust shrouds, snorkle tube cover, turret splash ring, fuel vent line, and pilze sockets. This requires a production variation table to correlate, which if you don’t have VK45.02 to Tiger II, could be a bit of a problem. I’d scan this in and post it, but I
am still waiting for Ron’s photo hosting site to let us in.

2 types of tracks could be used for the King Tiger with the so called “Porsche” turret.
Either the Gg 24/800/300 ( 18 tooth drive sprocket - very early type ) or the Gg 26/800/300 with a 9 tooth drive sprocket that was used up to March 1945 when the Kgs 73/800/152 single-link track with 18 tooth drive sprocket was introduced.

The ATL-22 and the ATL-16 would be appropriate for a King Tiger with the so called "Porshe"turret. The ATL-37 single-link Kgs 73/800/152 would only be appropriate for a vehicle produced in March 1945 and there wasn’t very many of those, infact I only know of one picture of a King Tiger with these tracks.

Edit : GEEZ I took so long to find the reference and to post this that Peridexion beat me to it … oh well we came up with the same answer.

Early bird gets the wurm…or is that turm? [:p]
