Container ship Build w/ CG Cutter

So I wanted to build a 1/700 scale model of a container ship to show the size difference between it and a CG Cutter I used to be stationed on.

My articles on the build are here:

Here is a placement pic after I cut the water line down and added spackle.

I didn’t like the kits drab container array (all orange) and so I started painting them realistic colors in a hodge podge pattern. This is very tedious.

I added 1/700 hand rails to the superstructure.

So far so good. I also picked up an aftermarket decal set for the kit.

Thanks for viewing!

Very nice! I built that Colombo Express kit as well, with varied containers. VERY tedious!

Very nicely done. I have her to build one day also…Cheers mark

Looking good! I built one of those myself, and it was a really nice kit to build. I think highly of German Revell ship kits.

Are you going to have a boarding party climbing up the side of the SS CORRUGATED CARTON of just a sightings report to EPIC???

HA!

I won’t lie to you and tell you I hadn’t thought of it, but I might have done an RHI launch with a boarding party. I then thought about how to make a 1/700 scale jacobs ladder and all plans were abandoned!

Nice to see other Coasties trolling about these waters!
