Coned!

That’s soooooooooooo cute !!!

WTH? Did Manny just use the word cute?

On a side note, sorry about the plane Doogs. What’s the prognosis?
I’ve fortunately never had the misfortune of a badly damaged model. I intend to keep it that way. No animals in the house…aside from the mouse in the kitchen, but he met with a rather unfortunate end. I’d rather any mishap occur on account of my own stupidity than leave it up to a ridiculous, albeit, well meaning creature. I do have a 9 month old that I’ll likely need to keep more of an eye on as he is starting to become more mobile and curious.

NO! Cockatoos!! Their dust gets EVERYWHERE, and it’s oily, so it sticks to EVERYTHING. I can deal with the pups and kitties.

hate to hear that Doogs

When my dog does stuff like that I employ the 'drop kick" handles (ears). I generally drop kick him into next week and he doesn’t land 'til Tuesday. He’s usually quite well behaved for a long time after an application.

Pat.

My lab lays under my bench at my feet. He loves me, and I love him. We’re best friends.

He ate my Revellogram A-37??? Dragonfly when he was a puppy…won’t even LOOK at another model!!!

I can try to show him some plastic, he turns away and lays down, with that guilty look. I think he remembers what happened almost 13 years ago.

DoogsATX,

Push onward and finish the model. The damage will present unique modeling challenges that will require possibly new techniques. Regardless you will be a better modeler for it and maybe the P-38 can be named after the dog that nearly destroyed it.[&]

My dog Clyde didn’t like the cone of shame either, he would purposely knock everything off the coffee table with the cone in a attempt to get sympathy to his plight and hopefully have it removed. This was when the coffee table was my hobby bench![ap]

AT least your dog doesn’t always eat your potato chips and try to steal and take your prescription meds… The first time he did it he was just lying there stoned out of his gourd purring. He had eaten one of my muscle relaxants. Luckily he only ate one. I called a vet and the Vet said to watch him and if he was okay in an hour, he’d be fine because he’s really big and fat… Now I have to make sure not to drop any or he’d be on it in a second. lmao

My lab’s pretty dumb most of the time. Well, maybe not dumb, just checked out, Lebowski-style. Until it comes to food. At that point, he becomes the MacGuyver of dogs. I’ve seen him, no joke, push a chair from the breakfast room to the kitchen to get at something on the bar counter. And then he goes right back to smacking his snout on corners and falling off the couch.

You can imagine the chaos with two small children who usually end up eating somewhere right around his mouth level. They turn away for a second (which they do ALL THE TIME) and it’s gone.

The pooch should be appropriately weathered.

My old cat Merlin who lived to a ripe old 18 years was a boozer. I found this out when I made the mistake of leaving a pint of Bass Ale on my kitchen table and going to the restroom for a couple of minutes. When I got back the glass was empty and he was licking his chops. He was sooooo drunk I thought he was gonne hurl. Had to give it to him, he did know how to hold his liquor… But man was he hung over the next day. Here is an image I took of him while he was loaded. He was probably the best cat I ever had but he also had a thing against some of my builds. I one time built a Fokker Triplane. He hated that thing for some reason…

I haven’t tossed it yet…but I’m also not going to finish it right away. IF…and that’s a bit if…I do decide to finish it, I think it’ll be as a wreckage dio, maybe add a 1/48 tank or truck or two. Could make for an interesting N. Africa or Pacific scene.

My bro-in-law has a chocolate lab that was shot out of a cannon when he was a pup. My bro-in-law is also on heavy duty painkillers for severe arthritis…he sucks on fentenyl lollipops. He fell asleep with one in his hand and guess who got it? He had to rush the dog to the vet and he pulled thru but that dogs been stoned ever since...youd think he was ten yrs old the way he acts. My point? …they will eat anything not nailed down and I still can`t believe you can train them to hunt…LOL!

Is that a metaphor or are you serious?

Hey, when you’ve been under siege long enough, you’ll fire ANYTHING out of a cannon.

Personally, I prefer mortars with cats as ammo…you might lose a little blood while stuffing them down the tube but man…they really fly!

True. Dogs are usually higher caliber, and do more damage on impact, but if the cat survives the initial blast, that internal stabilization system and landing on its feet thing means it can do a lot of secondary damage before it’s neutralized.

Good luck training a cat to stay off anything above ground level particularly if you have dogs in the same household.

Swede

Yup… Trying to train a cat to do anything is like trying to get a politician to stop chasing interns…

…or tell the truth!
