I am new to scale modling but I am in Sicily and wanting to make modle of a crossroads defense set up that I see every day. What would I use for a concret wall with gun firing holes???

try making it from dense styrofoam.if you have such a product available to you.
There’s a few ways you could approach this bear…you could scratchbuild it by duplicating the process that a real concrete wall is made: make a wooden mold of the appropriate size and then fill it with plaster of paris. Depending on it’s height, thickness and whether you’re going to have an adjoining perpendicular wall to aid in support, will determine if you need to fill it with an internal wire support frame (replaces the rebar that is in the real thing).
You’d need to be careful carving in the gun ports (especially if there is no internal support framing)…so as not to crack the entire piece.
Alternately, you could Google "diorama building supplies" or some such phrase and see what pops up for ready-made products…but they’ll likely be considerably more money than building it yourself.

I’ve never tried this out, but have some out in the garage. They make a sandless grout that is very fine in texture. Easy to work with, and is fairly cheap for the amount you get. Look in a store that sells marble for flooring and wall covering.
