I appreciate those of you who have PM’ed me words of support regarding the slanderous posts of our resident “troll” here who feels the need to express himself in such a colorful manner and who has obviously targeted myself and my employers.
One thing I learned many, many years ago is that, in any creative endeavor—Music, Movies, Writing, Art—there will always be vociferous, passionate critics whose vitriol exceeds the boundaries of both reason and good taste.
They concern me not. No one ever built a statue of a critic. LOL!
As a loyal, frequent contributor here, as well as a published author (that’s my “rust bucket” Nomad in the November issue, for those of you who don’t know), my main concern is to prevent these forums from turning into a circus for YOU, my friends and colleagues.
Therefore, I am begging you, please; when you see these derogatory posts, please do NOT respond to them in any way. This only keeps these posts “fresh” (high on the page), and simply feeds this person’s need for attention and chaos. It’s really not worth your time to pander to this person’s sickness.
Please simply hit the “report abuse” button, and let the moderators do their jobs. Or simply ignore these posts. Let them “die” and go on modeling!

I sincerely hope this guy gets bored with his antics soon, and disappears for good. I shall continue to be vigilant, and report the abuse at once! Thanks for stopping by Karl. Now, back to modeling! [:D]
It’s not difficult to spot these trolls; only after a few words into their post, they give themselves away.
They seem to have infiltrated many of the forums out there, until a once peaceful and enjoyable sideline is reduced to subtile advertisements and childish back-biting! Grrrrrr…
I too hope the Moderators will be vigilant in ‘dismembering’ these clowns when they’re fingered! (and IP’s are cross referenced when taking on new members also!)

hkshooter–there’s always somebody in the crowd throwing you the “one finger salute” when you play for a living–you can’t worry about them; what’s important is playing for the ones who are payin’ your bills and loving what you do–I learned that a long time ago, and it’s a lesson for ALL of life!

The sad thing is, that this whole post has done exactly what your trying to prevent!! I bet the guy is sat at home laughing his nutz off and planning his next bash at you. The only real way to prevent trolls is just to ignore the remarks. Its easy were adults…ish
Well, Guy–the reason I posted this thread is because people were actually responding to this troll’s posts and feeding him the attention which he craves. Keeping the thread going would have been much more disruptive and counter-productive to the harmony and general good will here in these wonderful forums*.*
Now, hopefully, when he posts here (which I’m sure he will), people will ignre him, and just report him until he grows-- either “up”, or a set of balls…, I mean, really–“You’re ugly and your band STINKS!” basically; what are we, in grade school still?! LOL!
Look–as a very active participant on these forums, and as a twice-published (“honored”) author–with even more consecutive issues coming up in Dec/Jan–I feel a deep loyalty to FSM, and consider this part of my “home”. I posted this post to try to tell people “look; I appreciate the support, but don’t feed into this jerk’s sickness by thinking you have to support me by posting rebuttals and defenses in his posts.”
THAT would only exacerbate the problems here, and in the end, just casue unnecessary and unproductive distractions in these forums.
Let him post away. I’m prepared for any manner of threat, rumor, or allegation. The truth is, when you are secure with yourself and who you are, there’s nothing anyone can say to bring you down. Honestly, I don’t care! [8-] HONESTLY!
But I do want to see the disruption of Finescale’s forums to end–for everybody’s enjoyment and peace.
I have seen a lot of trolls over the years. Most just go away and crawl back into their hole. Some come back under a different name and continue to bother members. Like you said, just ignore them and eventually they go away because their primary goal is not being accomplished.
Your the man Doog. Your stance on this problem is great. Hopefully this will be thoroughly looked into and will end soon. IPs and URLs need to be checked and blocked. Truly though, it is just shear stupidity what the other person is showing because nobody cares about what he is saying other than him. You obvisouly don’t and most people probably don’t either( I know I don’t). This is a modeling forum, not some other forum. But then again, it seems most all forums have this problem which is really to bad.
A troll was actually the cause of one of the most epic topics I’ve ever posted in. It was over on ARC, and began with this one guy asking why we didn’t pay attention to his posts.
Two days later there was over 40 pages of replies. [:o)]
At its peak there was literally one new post every 10 seconds.
The thread was (rightfully) shut down once the page count hit around 50.
But still, do NOT respond to trolls. Not worth it.
