Compressor Requirements

I am looking into purchasing a compressor for airbrushing. I am aware I will need a moisture trap, but what other technical specs should I be looking for regarding:
HP
PSI range

Also, how will I know the compressor I get won’t result in pulsing?

Is a regulator necessary?
Is there anything I should know about buying a compressor for use with a Badger 150?

Thanks in advance for your help!

The horsepower is not really a consideration if you are using it for modeling only.
Any compressor that will deliver 20-30 psi or more should suit you just fine.

The only compressors that pulsate are the diaphragm models such as the Paasche D-500 and others like it.

If you are just spraying single colors on something like cars then it is not absolutely necessary unless you are using a compressor that delivers more than 40 psi or so.
You must get one if you want to be able to control the air for fine detail spraying.

Nothing any more than any other hobby airbrush.

I hope this helps.
