Completed - Tamiya Dewoitine D.520

I built this one for Vance’s French Aircraft GB - nice little kit that goes together wonderfully. I’d recommend it to anybody looking for a quickie between more taxing builds!

Thanks for looking!

I’ve been watching you build this at your home page. Good to see it done. Your depth painting really pays off. Congratulations on a fine build.

[H]Looks cool.[H] Weathering is great.

Thanks for bringing this one along to the French GB - the first one finished is certainly an inspiration to the rest of us! That subtle all-over weathering came out great.

Lovely looking build Doogs, always a pleasure to see your builds.

Just looked at this one on your home page Doogs,
You really pulled this one off nicely!

I got the limited edition of this one with some aftermarket resin parts that I found in the sales corner of my LHS. Seems like I did a job buying this kit to!

Anyway, really nice work! can’t wait for your next project.
With regards, Ninetalis.

Thanks Ninetails! My next project will actually be wrapping up probably tonight…P-51B:

After that…my next project I’m going to keep close to the vest. It’s a commission build, but I’ve decided to hold off any more pics since I want it to be a surprise. Then after that I’ll be tackling Fisher’s 1/32 F7U-3M Cutlass as a Christmas present for my dad. I’ll be posting a WIP here, but will be keeping mentions of it off the blog and FB page since I’ve got family who actually glance at those from time to time…

For some reason I’ve always like the lines of the early Mustang better, same with the P47…

Doogs,

What kind of primer do you use? I’ve noticed all your models have a blue tint to them or is it just the lighting?

Nice looking model btw…

Will

Very nice Doggs! Your builds just keep getting better and better!

For this one I used Gunze Mr. Surfacer 1200.

As for the blue tint, until literally last night I’ve been using a blue background for some time, and it does tend to trip the camera up a bit, plus the lighter undersides usually reflect some of it. I’ve decided to switch back to white, which is honestly it’s own white balance bag of hurt, but a nice change of pace.

Perfectly executed build!

Nice job!

Very nicely done! I like it a lot.

I always enjoy viewing your builds Doogs. This one is no exception. It’s more of a unique plane than I’ve seen in a while, i.e, not quite as popular as say…a Bf 109!

Thanks man! Yeah I’ve been on a bit of a unique kick this year, between this, the Peevee and the Fiat (and the upcoming Cutlass). I’ve got several 109s in the stash, but it’s hard to work up the urge…

I’m not really into the French aircraft, so much…but that finish really makes the whole thing AWESOME![:D[

They just keep getting better and better![t$t]

That’s a nice lil’ Frenchman! Well done indeed.

Gary

Looks really nice! That’s a great finish. Were the dropped flaps an option of that kit?

Glenn

Another stunner Doogs! Lovin’ the subject too - not something one sees around these parts very often. I remember seeing your progress pics and the bang-up job you did on the office. Any reason you modeled the canopy closed?
