Completed Airfix Spitfire Mk.XII

Guys,

Just finished this model for FSM’s Workbench Reviews. Look for more info in the September issue, but I can tell you I had a lot of fun building it. Comments and critiques welcome.

Cheers, Aaron

Ooooo…

a Griffon engine Spitfire!

I’m guessing 1/48th scale?

Looks very nice!

I’ve always preferred the grey/green camo on Brit aircraft vs. the earlier Green Brown camo.

Thanks. Yes, it’s 1/48 scale. (Forgot to mention that.)

Cheers, Aaron

needs more rust…[whstl]

ver very nice looking Spit…[Y]

although I do have one complaint…no fair…you have “connections” when it comes to getting your stuff published…[;)]

Carlos

Don’t mind Carlos, he prefers tropical paint schemes…[whstl]

Nice build, just the right amount of weathering for my taste. Did the elevators come separate or did you have to cut them off?

hmmm…interesting material for a Dogfights episode…

Griffon Spit vs A Spotted Ho

Thanks. All of the control surfaces are separate.

The build looks great Aaron. [B] Although I must say that is the least aesthetically pleasing Spit version out there, what with the clipped wings and “Bouchonesque” cowl to accommodate the Griffon.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder [;)], for my liking I love the clipped wings, makes it look more like a warbrid than a racer.

Great job Aaron!

only one pic? [:(]

ditto more pics! Great looking build btw

So how does Airfix’s new-tool stack up? The 1/72 kits I’ve seen could stand to have the engraved lines lessened some but they seem to be a very nice kit for the price.

I don’t want give away too much before the review in the September issue, look for more then. It’s a nice kit with good detail and a fun build. I recommend it.

Cheers, Aaron

What a tease lol

What?!?

Vance, are you really Aaron’s alter ego?

Now that was weird. I’m going to see why it posted that way. Sorry for the inconvenience…

No worries at all…gave me a good chuckle.

…maybe… [;)]

I should be so lucky!
