Looking good Toshi. That P38 is huge!
Looks great Toshi! She’s going to be another fine addition to your wall of fame. [Y]
Thank you PlasticJunkie! Yes, the P-38 is huge. The wing span from tip to tip is 19 inches long and from the gun tips to the back tail is 14 inches long.

Thank you Gamera! LOL! I already made a space/room for this monster P-38.

I’ve been busy with my grandson. He just left to visit his other grandparents in Columbus, Ohio. He will be gone for four days. That’ll give me some time to work on the ordinance on the P-38.
I’m going for two drop tanks and ten rockets. That’ll make this lightning look mean And awesome! Until then, here is my current update of my lightning build.

aaawwww very cute!
Thank you iampiper13. When my grandson Ezra was first born I wasn’t allowed to hold him via my doctors orders as I did not have the strength and balance at that time. So I worked out in the exsercise room facilities here in our complex To get stronger and work out to also fix my equilibrium. I got stronger and better during these work out sessions. Six months later, I got stronger and my equalibruim got much better in that I got to carry him per my doctors orders.
Here in Streetsboro, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, during this time of year, we can expect temps in the lower thirties and the twenties. We even could be having temps in the teens and single digit numbers. I recall subzero temps one year in that it was such a cold winter that it snowed on Easter Day. My children at that time many years ago were hunting for Easter eggs in the snow!
For the last week and this weekend, we’ve been experiencing temps in the upper sixties and lower seventies! WOW!!! With these temps, I’ve been taking my grandson in a stroller around the complex where I live. The photos you see above were taken at a park in the complex where we live. iampiper13, thank you again for your kind comments of my grandson. He is the love of my and Mrs. Toshi’s lives.

Beautiful grandchild Toshi! Grandkids are very special indeed. Many times my little granddaughter took me hostage to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, the rest can wait.
To PlasticJunkie,
Thank you so much for your very kind comments of my grandson. Yes I agree with you; “they are very special” indeed. Mrs. Toshi and I baby sit him five days a week, now that he’s in Columbus, Ohio, I already miss him. LOL! Watching the Mickey Mouse club with your granddaughter was a moment in time in your life that you’ll never forget. You’re a great grandfather. You’re final comment in that “the rest can wait”, is a fantastic analogy.
Thank you PlasticJunkie for following and helping me fix my machine guns on this build. I so greatly appreciate this. You’re the MAN!!!

Dang Toshi, thanks so much for your kind words.

Sorry I’m late to the build…dang work keeps getting in the way (LOL). Your builds keep getting better and better. You’re attention to detail and painting are top notch!! Great job so far friend.
P.S. - Your grandson is a cute little buddy [:D]
No need to appolagize it’s all good. Thank you for the very kind comments. I try to do my best in “attention to detail”. Thank you!

To my fellow forum members,
I’ve come across a very weird and terrible set back on this P-38 build. The decals are damaged. For some strange reason after I soak the decals in water, they refuse to slide off and or they disintegrate immediately.
With this situation, my build is on the holding pattern. I still can work on the ordinance of which I will continue to post but once that’s done I’ll be waiting on some AM decal sets to come in of which I ordered from eBay. Until then, thank you for your dedicated following of this P-38 Lightning build.

To my fellow forum members,
I finally feel better, at least enough to post my most recent addition to the P-38. I’m not 100% yet and when Mrs. Toshi caught me building this kit today, I got scoldings so I stopped for now. I’ll be able to do some more tonight as Mrs. Toshi finally conceded to my building of kits with the remark she made of which is; “Only for a half hour at a time”! LOL!
Until then Mrs. Toshi and I plus our grandson and grandsons mom and dad, will be going to Chinatown to eat some Dim Sum. This will be my first outing in two weeks!
