Completed: 1/48 Hasegawa Razorback

Well I’m trying to clear out the stash one by one, and getting a few builds under my belt in the process. I think this is the 6th completion since June?
Anyway, here’s my Hasegawa 1/48 P-47 Razorback built completely OOB. This was my first Hasegawa kit, and I my only complaint really was the clear pieces for the formation lights haha. So small! But I got em in there
I wasn’t building this for competition, just another bird for the shelf - so I chose to leave off the Chief nose art :stuck_out_tongue: Wasn’t a big fan of it.

Unfortunately the cap for my pin vise is cross-threaded so I was unable to drill out the MG barrels, but once I get a new one I’ll be able to go back and correct that. Other than that she’s finished!

I like what you did with the it. Your weathering of that mono tone drab is excellent very realistic looking. Infact the paint chipping and staining is just as well done. The control surfaces are also very well done. I haven’t seen a Tbolt this nice in quite a while.

Very well done. All aspects are very convincing. [tup]

Jason-

I agree with Stan, beautiful job on a difficult camo scheme to do well. I like the effects you used, and appreciated the WIP thread immensely. Can’t wait to see what comes off of your bench next. Any idea what it might be?

Thanks for the comliments guys!

Next up will be Tamiya’s 1/32 A6M5 Zero, my first shot at a big scale plane and my first attempt with any PE. Hopefully all will go well [tup]

Gorgeous, Jason! You da’ man. The weathering is awesome. What kind of airbrush do you use?

After my third build in over a year, I’m still only on airbrush basics (ie, making sure paint comes out of it).

PB <----slow in building and mental capacity

Excellent! That’s the same kit I have on my bench right now. [:O]

Jason, you really did that kit justice! I know what you mean about the Indian head… funny how both Tamiya and Hasegawa chose the same plane to feature. I bought some aftermarket decals on the cheap to dress mine up in! The finish on the P-47 is absolutely flawless. I wish I had the same luck as you. I’m glad to see you’re still cranking them out!

Very nice work on the Jug. The paint job and weathering are especially good.

Thanks for the kind words, all!

I just opened the box this morning and started deciding where to start haha. Pretty daunting kit after doing only 1/48’s and 1/72’s

Beautiful P-47 in Pre-Chief markings!! You really nailed this one and while it’s probably a given to you, the photography is outstanding, as usual.

She’s a beauty for sure. Nice faded OD too.

Beautifull job on weathing that OD finish! I would not worry to much about not drilling out the machine guns. The are noy very accurate in shape anyway. I built the same bird about two years ago. She went together great from what I remember. I screwed up the canopy masking and then scratched it. Never got around to trying to get a replacement one.

Thanks again everyone, the next project is underway so keep an eye out for my next WIP thread

I’ll add one more complement. Excellent. THe paint really makes the OD stand out.

Very nice work! I like it. What did you use for the chipping? Looks very good.

Thanks, chipping was done with a Prismacolor Metallic Silver colored pencil [tup]

Wow- that looks fabulous! I use the same thing, but I can’t get it to look like that… very nice work.

It took a little practice to get the hang of using the pencil, but I think I’m almost happy with the results. Looking back at previous kits where I used it, it’s quite unconvincing. But less is more!

Excellent job Brewer.

Another one of the forums builds that would look great sitting on my shelf. [:D]

Cant wait to see the zero.
