It seems that a lot of unfair comparisons between Iwata and Badger gravity-feed airbrushes have been posted on this forum lately and I would like to clear it up a bit if I could.
Sometimes the Omni 4000 has been compared to the Iwata Eclipse HP-CS and I think that is a fair comparison, but to compare it to the Iwata HP-C is not.
So I think a fair comparison of equivelent airbrushes between these two companies should be like this:
Also, the Badger 100LG should also be in comparison with the HP-CS and Omni 4000 as it is in the same price catagory although it is capable of finer atomization than either of the other two.
I have a Badger 100LG and a Sotar 20/20 coming soon so I will see how they do then. [;)]
A slight correction to what I posted earlier.
The Iwata HP-CS is not really in the same exact catagory as the Omni 4000 because of it’s tip design.
I was thinking that the HP-CS had a cone tip like the Omni has but it does not.
It has a screw in micro tip in the cone like the HP-C and Badger 100’s have and they are more precise and able to spray finer than a regular drop in cone.
The Omni 4000 will of course tend to not clog near as much because of it’s cone design, so it’s a trade off.
1337, the Colani is to be found a lot cheaper than 500 CAD ( ask to sigman ) . By the way, apart from the black finish ( and I concede you it is very smart looking ) Evolution limited is the same as “normal” Evolution.
I don’t think comparing the Paasche H to the Badger 200 is a completely accurate comparison. The Paasche H is an external mix airbrush whereas the Badger 200 is an internal mix airbrush. Admittedly they are both single action, but from my understanding, and this is only from reading about the differences, and not from personal experience, an external mix airbrush creates a more “Coarse” pattern than an internal mix.
