Hey Guys…
The tank project on the bench is the Dragon Firefly. The instructions call for a 50/50 mix of colors for the hull etc, I’m terrible at mixing and would prefer to use something straight out of the bottle. Anyone make a color equivilent right outof the bottle? BTW what was the paint “number” or color name that was used?

I used Tamiya Japanese Army Green right out of the bottle, pre-shaded with black, and I liked the result. Others have used Humbrol’s Bronze Green.
BTW, how did your build go? Some of found out quite by accident that we were all building that very same kit, and exchanged a bunch of tips on how to best deal with the troubles we were having. If you want, I can post links to at least some of those threads.

Welcome to the forums! British armor color is one of those troubling things since they didn’t use the same OD as the Americans but it was a shade of overall green. What colors are they telling you to mix? Are you looking to use acrylic, enamel, etc.?

Thanks for the response! The instructions call for a mix of 50% Olive Drab and 50% Light Green. I’ve used Humbrol Bronze Green before on a Polish M4A1(76) and liked the result. I wasen’t sure if the Bronze Green color was appropriate for the Firefly, I have to admit that my references on Commonwealth vehicles is extremely thin. I’m in the planning stages now while I put the finishing touches on an Academy M4A2, any hints or things to look out for on the Firefly is greatly appreciated.Now if someone could tell me why my Shermie turned a dark Green after I covered it with Dull Coat! Wiped out alot of the preshading etc I did.

It may not be correct, but I use the Model Master Acryl OD green 4728. It’s very light and I don’t think it looks right for U.S. Shermans, but it does give my Commonwealth tanks a different look.
