listed at $33.58 delivered to the states… not too shabby. Maybe they are feeling the heat from Dragon? I “inventoried” my stash and for the first time I have more Dragon kits then Tamiya.
But it does give me a reason to buy it- I can build it and the Dragon side by side and do my own comparison! Sad how I can rationalize spending more money
Boy I wish Tamiya would get off the pot or [censored]! Reboxing with maybe a new figure, and jacking the price up is not getting the job done.[V] Like 1shifter, and others have said, my stash is rapidly looking more Dragon, and I can buy some neat aftermarket gadgets with the money I save. Come Tamiya[:(] You guys been in this business long enough too know better. Semper Fi, mike
I would just go with dragon-who gets the awesome easy link? i would want them rather than fooling around with vinyl…but i did get decent results using super glue on my panzer III L…
With Dragons latest , ( and I think it is a very good choice to put out the very first tigers issued ), how can Tamiya compete , nor should they .
I love the marder 3 kits they make .
Just awesome and they go together like nothing .
Tamiya should do what they have been in the past few years , put out high quality abstract equipt. ( IE marder ) .
The 1/35th market is just saturated with Panthers and Tigers right now , ( although their Panther G is the best in my book )
Now if they really want a big seller , and a huge following of AM parts as well , they should do a 1/16 scale Panther ,preferably a Late G I could almost guarantee HUGE sales with that one !
1/48 my A$%!!! , …go with the big scale stuff , which they are good at and people will buy , hey maybe even do a big scale with full interior , if they did a LS panther or tiger with full interior , I would guess it would be one of their biggest sellers to date !
Shawn, I agree with the comments made about Tamiya’s Marder series. Great kits. I thought a Hetzer was a natural. You know, a tweak here, a tweak there, and viola, a Hetzer from their Marder series molds. There are also a bunch more variants from the Marder hulls. The flak one, the recon one with the 20 mm turret. Come on Tamiya, we beg you to do it.
This is yet another area where Tamiya is dropping the ball compared to Dragon .
Dragon makes use of interchangeable parts between kits , Tamiya has obviously only touched on this .
The Hetzer is a very kool little gun that noone does very well right now . I would guess Tamiya’s engineers could do it the best .
I seriously think there is a niche in the large scale superdetail realm , they put out some large scale with full interior and the armor fans will buy it , this has been proven with the recent T-34 series by trumpeter .
This has been a huge success from what I see , everyone is making one of those !
I think the larger kits will have a following, but how many of us can afford a bulk of them as well as give up precious shelf space? I think that is why 1/35 works so well for us; it’s cost effective, gives great detail, and takes up nominal space.
I agree, that Tamiya or perhaps AFV would make an outstanding Hetzer. Now that AFV is producing more WW II kits, I may not have to wait so long. LOL
