OK this is getting old. How long have I waited for someone, other than Lindberg and their Cape class patrol boat, to make a decent medium or high endurance cutter? The answer kids is all my life.
A nice Reliance class, Hamilton class, Healy, Legend, Polar, Alex Haley, Bear, Mackinaw, Wind, Cactus, Chimo, Misquite, Iris, Juniper, Sentinel, Driver, Tampa, Treasury Shall I go on. This list does’nt even list the numerious DDE type cutters or patrol boats.
I have written emails for years to no avail. How about it Trumpeter, Revell, Dragon, Tamiya, etc. etc. Some of the Hamiltons are now missile frigates for other navies. The Taney fired on Kates during the Pearl Harbor attack. There’s plenty of historical reasons to produce one. I know I can scratch build one but I don’t want to, I want a manufacturer to acknowlage the oldest continuous sea going service the US has.
Revell did the Taney (Treasury class?) long ago, and re issued it repeatly over the years. Gold Medal Models makes a PE set for the kit, and there are several 3D printed upgrades for weapons available over on Shapeways. It’s an oddball larger box scale kit, like their USS Olympia or Destroyer Escort and about the same quality & vintage. Hopefully Atlantis may re issue the kit as they work their way thru the old Revell molds as they are doing now.

Iron Shipwright sells several USCG craft; Mohawk, Modoc, Campbell, Hamilton & Fir. When you contact them, ask what ever happened to the 133’ Buoy Tender (White-class) in 1:192 I mastered for them.
JAG Collective (now Admiralty Modelworks) made a modern Bear-class as well as a Hamilton in 1:700 scale
Well I guess $170 for a CG cutter is better than nothing.

The other thing that would be nice is if they model makers would provide more clear/transparent model bodies (airplane fuselages, tanks, etc) that would allow for greater view of interiors. After all the work we do to compete the insides and then not be able to show them off…
