Hi guys,
The Revell kit tells: * Revell 68 dark green
*Revell 82 dark earth
*Revell 9 anthracite
Or should I use the Humbrol ones:
- H29 dark green
- H30 dark earth
- H33 black
Should I use matt black(Humbrol) or matt anthracite (Revell) ?
And should I use the revell earth, which is much lighter in colour then the humbrol one?
Is it really dark brown on a Lanc or a lighter brown?
Really need your help…
Regards,
Jürgen
I don’t know what the Revell colors look like, but I think Humbrol drk earh is a good match. I have used that for RAF camo before.
Try these two links for a color reference, They are of two 1/48 Tamiya Lancasters but do tak about the interior and exterior paint color and one has some very nice pics of both

I’d go with the Humbrol Colors, but whichever you use, the bottom of the aircraft will still be Black. OK ?
(or is it White, or is it Blue, or fushia? (Dummy, slap, slap) Oh yea, it’s Black! )
I really like the testors model master enamels for RAFdark green and dark earth. They seem to be a nice match and better quality then revell.
flat black from the pot may look a little stark ; You might want to lighten the black a bit to a very dark grey or “off black” for weather and scale effect. You can then shade pannel lines and seperate pannels with variations of this colour and /or Pure matt black. lots of luck !!! Peter
Thanks to eveyone for their help !!!
