I have washed the recesses of my dark green JS-3M with mineral spirits plus a bit of black and it looks ok but I’ve seen better.

A combination of Burnt Umber and Black seems to be a common practice. You have to look at any vehicle and see how the dirt accumulates. It’s generally a dark, dirty color. Sometimes a lighter dirt color used in conjunction.
