OK stupid question of the day. What color are German tarps?

They can be any color you want.[;)] Seriously any sort of olive drab, tan, brown, black will suffice. Just stay away from the brighter colors like red, yellow, and orange. Hope this helps.

This is actually a question that has nagged German Armor modelers for years…there has been no official settlement to this question, but I tend to use khaki, field grey or paint it in Heer “splinter” pattern…
A better question would be–"Really, who’s going to criticize my choice of any obviously military colors for a German tarp?
Be creative. Have fun!
Just remember the tarps of the day were either canvas or oil-cloth (vs. more modern synthetic materials) and paint accordingly and you should be just fine.
