Santa gave me a present that’s pretty neat. I got the CMK WWII US Fuel Trailer Type A-3 ( 600 gal ) 1/48 scale. I’m studying it and there are still a few things that I’m not sure about. So, does anyone have any photos of one of these things or does anyone have any photos of this completed kit? I’m normally just an Airplane guy but I’m trying to branch out a bit so that I can eventually do some Dioramas. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much… Bob
Hi Bob
Here is a photo for you
I took several photos of one of these this last June at a WWII Weekend and Air show. not sure of its exact type though.
Delbert
Thanks. I can spot a couple of things but the one that I have has the dual wheels and a different configuration on the front end. Was this photo taken at the WWII weekend in Reading, Pa. by any chance? I was there on Saturday.
I’ve been wrong before, but that photo sure does look like the 400 gallon “water buffalo” trailer. That long box on the left front would have 5 (I think) spigots for filling canteens. In original WWII fit it would have sockets for 4 bows to carry a trap to match the profile of the similar 3/4 ton trailer.
To, OP, there are some photos of the 600gallon dual-tire fuel trailer online. The Army Air services seem to have called them “A-3” which may help your search. The A-3 trailer may have been fitted for 5 bows like the 1-1/2 ton traier. Or not.
Yep I took several hundred photos there on Sunday. a few of them are on my site as walk arounds… Don’t think I have any of a duel wheeled trailer, think they all were the smaller ones.
Thanks guys. I’ll continue to put on my Sun Glasses and Beach T-Shirt and " Surf the Net " some more… figuratively speaking of course !!! If anyone else finds some info please feel free to post it. Later, Bob

Thanks for the info. While I was Surfing I did see those two images and some good photos of the assembled models. Since I am poorly informed when it comes to Armor I do have one question reguarding the dual wheels. Based on all the photos that I’ve seen it looks like there is some sort of large diameter hub / disc between the two wheels that does not allow you to look through the slots of the wheels, unlike the dual wheels on the Model AAA Trucks, where you can look through the wheel slots. For those of you who are well versed in this can you confirm this? I would like to know so that I don’t file out the slots if that’s a no-no. Here are a couple of photos of this thing. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much… Bob
