Hi all, What is the best base coat to get transparent red to shine well? Thanks much AARDVARK

For taillights and nav lights I use silver as a base and tamiya clear red

I just paint the lenses with a magic marker- no base coat.

Now that is a nice alternative way to paint lens! I never thought of doing that. Thanks for the tip!
